Ye faithful fans have doubtless noticed that the Charlie Morris web site just got a lot cooler, but we want to share with you the full extent of the coolness.
Old Charlie is an HTML jockey of the old school - with brother Bruce and nephew Kief, he ran an e-zine that was one of the leading web development resources back in the 1990s (also known in internet circles as the Stone Age). The design of the old CMB site reflected this - the pages were static, the graphics were of fixed sizes, and it had only a limited amount of audio and video content. It was the equivalent of a cassette tape, if you will.
Mr. Eric Elsner (all praise to his skills and patience) has now built a completely new dynamic site that uses all the latest and greatest tech (and he might just be willing to build you a site too, if you ask in the proper form).
For you, dear readers and listeners, the practical improvements are as follows:
- The site should now look good, and load quickly, on all devices and all screen sizes, from TV-size monitors to tablets to smartphones.
- The graphics automatically scale to your screen size, so if you have a big screen you can enjoy lovely high-res photos of me, Charlie Morris.
- All of my recorded oeuvre - including audio albums and video albums - is now available for your downloading or streaming pleasure, absolutely free. This is a far superior experience than streaming it on Spotify or any of that crap, because you get high-quality MP3s with all the original artwork and liner notes.
- With this freedom comes responsibility. The tip jar is at your disposal to make a contribution of any desired amount. You can also still order physical CDs directly from each individual album page.
